God of War director, better known as Cory Barlog, has stepped forth to respond to criticism pertaining to this year’s upcoming outing. The reboot-sequel has made some changes to the formula that has been shown off in various videos, which seems to have caused an outcry that has reached Barlog.
Whether you’re looking to play God of War or skip out on it, there’s no denying that this iteration of the game is different from past titles in the series. Additionally, some fans have stressed that changes made to the game are for the better, while others are saying the changes are for the worse.
Well, it seems that the uproar has spread to various platforms that it ended up reaching Cory Barlog, creative director at Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio, who happens to be developing this year’s God of War outing.
Secondo un rapporto che GameRant posted up, it is said that Barlog has come across contrary opinions about the game and had this to say:
“I know there are a lot of people who are out there saying, ‘It’s totally different. They’re changing a lot of things. Hashtag Not My God Of War. Hashtag Cancel My Pre-Order… But I think a lot of people have to play it…
“We’ve been very restrictive of the information and what we’re showing visually, and part of that is my paranoia. I want people to experience this game as a whole. Everybody who made this game–or a good portion of this team–has been a part of God of War from the very beginning. Nothing has changed cynically or under pressure or just willy-nilly. All of us put a lot of heart and soul into this game, and the DNA of what this franchise is still pumps through the blood of this game.”
As of right now, the game is slated to release exclusively for PS4 on April 20th. Folks looking to shape their opinion on this year’s God of War have less than two weeks to watch footage, and I’m sure videos and streams will go up aplenty for further assessment — if your mind isn’t already made up.
With all of that said, what do you think of Barlog’s response and of this iteration of God of War?
